Celebration Cakes was first opened in the early '70's by a Mother & Daughter team. They set up their business in Churchill Ave, Manurewa baking & decorating cakes, selling decorating supplies, home style baking & catering local events.
Around 20 years later they decided to concentrate on the catering side of the business and sold the cake decorating & supplies side to Ngaio (& Gary) a long time employee.
I (Rae) started working here in the mid 90's as a 13yo doing dishes- even before mum (Ngaio) started working here. I left after finishing school, had other jobs, lived in London & returned "temporarily" in 2004....
Early in 2007 Celebration Cakes had outgrown the original shop in Manurewa & moved to Great South Rd in Manukau- as of the 26th of Feb 2019 we're now at what will hopefully be our forever home- 376 great South rd, Papatoetoe :-)
We still make cakes, cupcakes & sell decorating supplies as well as printing edible images and providing a bake service.
